Surrounding Yourself With The Right People Matters!

Hey guys! First off, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has reached out to me about how they have been able to relate to some of the things I have been writing about. It means so much that you guys are even reading the stuff I write, but it means even more that I am able to help you all feel a little less alone.

One thing I want you guys to know is that everything happens for a reason! People come into your life for a reason and leave your life for a reason as well. You also have people that stay in your life always, which is even more special! Thank God for those people. Something I would like to say is that you need to choose the people in your life wisely. Whether that be a friendship, relationship, peers, etc. Just because someone has been in your life a long time doesn't mean that they are a good friend.. It might just mean it's been a long time. Keep that in mind!

I say this because you are who you surround yourself with, and if you lay with dogs you're bound to get fleas, unfortunately. If you are surrounding yourself with kind, loving, genuine individuals who have goals and passions, then odds are you will be going down that same route! But, if you surround yourself with individuals who validate your bad decisions, who also make bad decisions, if you surround yourself with people who aren't very goal driven, but driven by selfishness, people who are inconsistent in their emotions or mindsets… Odds are they're going to bring you down with them. Even if you aren't this type of person naturally.

The people that you surround yourself with is extremely important. 1 Corinthians 15:33 explains this by saying that if you are keeping bad company around then it will corrupt your character completely. Choosing to surround yourself with individuals who are known to be inconsistent, lie, are mean or are quick to hate, people who do not want what's best for you, but what's best for themselves in that moment, individuals who cheat in any way, people who are just not good for your heart or soul are known to be corrupting to not only your character, but they have the ability to change your personality which leads to the ways you behave, the ways that you might feel day to day, or even the way that you think.

If you feel alone while you are surrounded by these people, even just a few times, maybe they aren't the best for you? Sure, you may laugh around them and have a good time because misery loves company, but do they help fill your cup? Do they add onto your life or do they fill your presence with unfulfilling things? Things that bring you down even slightly? Be honest with yourself!

Millionaires surround themselves with other millionaires. And actions speak louder than words!

So, If you have been feeling drained or questioning the situations you may be getting yourself into, try taking a step back and look at the people in your life. Truthfully and honestly.

I am so beyond blessed to be able to say that the people I have in my life currently are just good, honest, kind-hearted, genuine people who love deeply and care consistently. They have goals. They have passions. They love God. They don't gossip. And most importantly I can trust them to have my best interest at heart! They hold me accountable and let me know when I might be in the wrong. It took some time and it was upsetting to have to take out the individuals in my life that did, unfortunately, bring me down, and while I still love those individuals so much, we just were not compatible or in the same places in life anymore. That is okay!

So, please just remember that the people you surround yourself with are so important! Surround yourself with light and love and watch how your life will change so quickly!

I love you guys tremendously! Stay Radiant!
